What made you decide to build a wedding app rather than use a traditional wedding website?

Having an overseas wedding requires a lot of information sharing in regards to visas, accommodation, and last minute updates, and having some experience with the Movement platform in the past, we knew it would be perfect for it.

Why did you choose Movement, and what was the building experience like?

We chose Movement because it's completely free to design your concept. In just a couple of hours, I'd mocked up what I had in mind, and from there knew the next step was just getting some high quality content and building out the app from there.

Seeing the changes pushed live to the app is a huge plus as well. In development through a traditional app store, this is not at all possible—you'll be waiting like a month to see any changes—so yeah, that made it easy to develop.

What's one thing that surprised you about using Movement for your wedding website and app?

One thing that surprised us was the upload quality of the content—it honestly puts Instagram to shame, so that was pretty cool.

Apparently I have undiagnosed OCD so my favourite feature was the styles, which makes everything look uniform and consistent.

What features were most important for your wedding app?

One of the main features that we needed was RSVP, which was built using a form, and this made it super easy to be notified who could make the date. We also had some fun working with Movement to make some custom little features—we made a countdown timer for the wedding. They're just easy people to work with.

How did your guests respond to your custom wedding app?

Overall, we think it was really well received. A lot of people mentioned that they used the Bali guide to plan some activities and visit some of our favourite restaurants.

Travelling, as well, I think the mobile format was really appreciated and much easier to use than having to open up a Safari or Google Chrome page.

We already have been recommending Movement for any upcoming weddings. For us, it met all our needs. It was fun to create and modify it as required. And probably the best bit was the team—they're so nice, they even came to our wedding, so that was pretty cool. Thanks Movement!
